Noah’s always been aware of the piano in our house. When I was pregnant with him I’d sit and play for hours hoping that he could hear. As a babe I’d hold him on my lap and play songs for him hoping he’d pick up some musicality like me. Now, as a young toddler I was excited to find him walking over on his own and playing with the keys. These days he asks to be helped up on to the bench so he can play (pound) properly. I know it’s only because it makes noise and anything that makes noise under his command is a wonderful toy but part of me believes that he will grow to love the piano like I do.

Waxing poetically about this aside, these toddlers are damn cute aren’t they? My girlfriend popped over with her little one who’s only a few weeks older than Noah and we all played outside in the water until everyone was spent. After returning inside Noah walked over to the piano like he does alot now and started to pound. That attracted little K and the duet started. We plopped them side by side and just let them have at it for a while. One would start the other would follow and so it went for 10 min or so…

After their performance was over we were all spent and hungry. The pizza had arrived and the kiddies retired to the toy corner until they were ready to pass out. All in all a nice end to a good Saturday! (yes, i’m way late writing this post)

So, I originally took this vid to show you how obsessed Noah is with the broom. He’ll “sweep” for hours on end it seems. However, the funniest part of this vid is right at the end. He learned a new trick at daycare…

Here’s more of his new trick…

Yup, telling momma to be quite already, we’re in trouble!

Noah’s always had a good grasp of cause and effect. He was quick to figure out that pushing buttons on toys made noise, or pushing a lever would drop a ball etc…well, this week he figured something else out….how to drive mommy nutz and make a mess..

He figured out how to get the dogs food open and started scooping…Macie was in heaven!

It’s a long vid because I couldn’t stop laughing at him:)

So, one of my girlfriends called Friday afternoon and invited me to a royal wedding watch party that evening. I’m always up for a girls night so I said hells yes! Only one problem…they were going all out, hats included, and I have no hat:( Enter a quick trip to el Targé and Michaels to find some supplies….

A headband, few feathers, some wooden flowers, felt and lots of hot glue, what I produced:

Excuse the cheese and the terrible pic, this was after I got home, taken by the hubs and me with quite a bit of champagne on board…

The party was a blast! The gal that threw the party went all out. She had a real wedding cake, wedding favors, and food to feed 100 (there were about 40 gals in attendance). There was toad in the hole, scones, tea sandwiches, salmon rolls, and lots of cheese, crackers, and biscuits. Oh, and lots of champagne! Her husband even put together a Kate and Wills wedding slide show for our enjoyment to watch as we were getting assembled to watch the main event. In the end a great time was had by all!

In my champagne induced silliness I decided to let the dog try on my headband (lots of cheese was involved in placating her long enough to get the shot)

I think she may actually wear it better than I did. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the headband, it’s too much fun to throw out but really, when would I wear something like that again??!

I was typing away on my computer and Noah was being very quiet, I looked over the ottoman to find this:

Yup, he was fully content to pull the tissues out of the box one by one…haha…I stopped him while we still had half a box left.

In other news, i have a dozen or so posts half started and have yet to find the energy or time to finish them. I crashed last night at 9:30 (i actually had planned on posting this last night) and work is really busy right now. Anyways, hang tight. Hopefully I’ll get a bunch accomplished and queue up some posts for the week.

So, Noah’s really starting to develop a personality complete with likes, dislikes, wants, and HAVETOHAVENOWORELSE’s.

Case in point:
1. he has a thing for bathrooms and toilets…he wants to play in the water (i guess dog dishes count here too) – all gross gross gross!
2. the world ends every time you take an inappropriate toy from him (hello my cell phone, the remote control, the screwdriver dh was using in the kitchen..) – only to be find 10 seconds later once he’s forgotten about it
3. he gets bored with his food and either takes two good swipes with his arm and clears the tray or picks each piece up one by one and feeds it to the eagerly awaiting dog…(kind of cute, PIA really though).
4. he thinks he’s totally hilarious. Give this kid a mirror and he’ll talk and make faces and laugh at himself for at least 20 min.
5. he’s a ham for the camera. He even knows the phone camera vs. the real camera.
6. when he’s fed up he signs “all done”…like when I’m changing his diaper (which he hates – point 7) he’s signing all done so I put him down – nekked…
7. he hates diaper changes and clothes changes – this kid would rather run around nekked…

Oh, I could go on…he’s just so hilarious these days. Like today, in the car on the way home he was alternating between fake laughing and loud punctated “oh!”‘s to himself in the mirror. I so wish I could have video’s it (but alas I was driving..)

Here’s a video for your enjoyment too:) Nothing special, just typical Noah, non stop jabbering away.

Okay, so I was browsing some of my favorite blogs and noticed that The Paper Mama did a Vlog called the dialect vlog. I was intrigued by how I might say things so I decided to try it for myself. I’ve decided that when I talk unscripted to a camera I say stupid things…haha…so, if you make it thru all 7 and a half minutes of this, you really love me..haha.

The list of words if you want to do it (or have no clue what I’m saying) are Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught

The questions are:
What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped
body and extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry
groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you change the TV channel with?

Anyone else want to try it? if you do, send me your link:)

I only have a few min before I totally crash (I’m exhausted!). I thought I’d share this hilarious video from tonight:

I couldn’t help but laugh at him and he was sooo mad! All he wanted was to climb the stairs. You can see though, he got over it quickly.

Well at least for Noah it was! A string of sleepless nights has him a bit delirious I think because he was happy and hilarious today. Perhaps he was just that way anyways. Regardless, he was on a roll today just gabbing away, cruising the furniture and crawling from room to room. He emptied my tupperware drawer with glee and then proceeded to toss everything around the kitchen. That’s only after he used me as a human jungle gym and attacked the camera. Case in point:

About 1/3 of the time when you tell him to smile and point a camera at him you’ll get some sort of toothy open mouthed smile like you see above. The piggy snort happens only if you’re really lucky! He thinks it’s hilarious and dissolves into laughing fits along with DH and I.

Here you find him babbling and not listening to me:)

Then he tried climbing into or over the toy basket. Perhaps it was a bit cruel to just stand there and watch him struggle but I promise it wasn’t for long and he laughed at me when I went to help him. Nothing gets in this little guys way anymore. He climbed Mount DH this morning (DH was laying on the floor in the nursery and Noah climbed clear over him to get to his toy.

And last but not least, he’s back to his favorite gesture – no! All while trying to climb over the basket again.

Right in the middle of all that fun was a quick shopping trip to get some last min things. It’s a hair raising experience shopping in those last few shopping days before Christmas. The highlight of the trip (aside from getting home in one piece) was a very sweet little boy who was completely smitten with Noah and who told me about wanting a Pot Belly’s for Christmas and how it all had to do with food (I didn’t quite follow the entire story line:)). His dad, bluetooth ear bud in place, told me that his vocabulary is just exploding right now and that he has no idea where these stories come from. I got a kick out of both of them. They were having lunch at the cafe in el Target…

Anywho…thought I’d fill you guys in and share some cute videos:)

So this weekend we established a new family tradition in our house – cutting our own Christmas tree! Yes, Noah’s too young to even notice but it’s the thought that counts right??:) I’d had every intention of taking the big camera out into the field with us an setting up a bunch of great family shots but that was all thwarted by the rush of icy air that greeted us as we opened the car door. Seems I neglected to realize how much of a temperature difference there was between our home and the farm we drove to just an hour away. Matters were not helped by the wind that was whipping over the field. So, needless to day, we were trying our best just to get out, find a tree, cut it down and get back to our warm car as quickly as possible.

Noah was a real trooper. We had him bundled but I know he had to be cold too. Here’s a video from our adventure.

I plopped him in his crib this AM while I was putting way his clothes (and trying to find something for him to wear today) and I turned around to find this:

And because I got such a kick out of it, here’s another:

ETA: Yes, we’re lowering the crib:) We lowered it two weeks ago when he figured out the pulling to his knees. I need to get in there and do it again now (i should have just gone the whole way down the first time!). Although, I’m afraid the next level is not going to be low enough – tough having tall child!

Are revelations like these one:

Soap Operas actually look WORSE on HD channels! They were always total cheeze when I watched them in college (on a 13 inch mini TV) but wow, on a 40+ inch HD TV they actually look more cheezey…Thank goodness Days of our Lives is recorded in non HD:)

Oh, and really? The same actors are on Days that were there 8 years ago when I was in college – and they’ve changed very little! It took me all of about 10 min to get back in the story line! Haha….love trash TV!

Sep 092010

He’s not super consistent but it’s still hilarious…he thinks it’s even funnier with food in his mouth while blowing raspberries. I have yet to capture that because well, I’m being covered in baby food from said raspberries:)

And yes, I’m playing lazy blogger these days by just posting pics and videos….there’s been movement on the job front which is fab! I should be gainfully employed in no time!

So, I’m a bit obsessed right now with this whole Nothing but Nets thing my mom is doing. I love making baby things! Today I tried my hand at making a tutu and since there were no other females in my house that it would fit, I used my Vizsla:) I mean, why use a stuffed animal when you have a real animal who’s game!!

She was not amused...

So he’s been giving us silent gummy “laughs” for a few weeks now but today was the first day he actually put sound behind it. Ignore me being nutz, that’s the only way to get him to do it.

Okay, I stumbled upon this today during the blog hop and am dying laughing…seriously, falling-out-of-my-chair-on-the-floor-tears-in-my-eyes laughing…

Toyota really has something with this Swagger Wagon campaign…
