Okay, now we’re really starting to feel like fall around here and this summer shape up has taken longer than I ever imagined it might – I think it’s time for a name change – Operation bye bye spare tire… the Pittsburgh Half Marathon is 246 days away:)

This week I finally (FINALLY) managed to make some quinona (twice!). It’s actually pretty good. I was making it with chicken stock and paired it with stronger tasting foods like a curry chicken and a pork tenderloin and it worked perfectly. DH even ate it with minimal complaining:) I drank more water than I had before but need to continue to do so. Lastly I went for a run two days in a row and started to feel that lower leg pain again so I need to start out slower and as soon as I’m gainfully employed again I’m going to pay a visit to a runners store to be fitted. I think the relaxation of the ligaments that happened during my pregnancy has affected the mechanics of my feet causing the pain ( i tried both my old shoes that never gave me problems before and my new shoes – no difference).

Getting out for a walk, ride, or run is more important now since I gave up my gym membership. I had them pause it for the time being but depending on where I get a job I may need to cancel it outright (some of the positions i’m looking at are more than 30 min from the gym). Anyways…on to the stats…

Next, Stats by the week:
Week 1 – 142lbs (7 weeks postpartum)
Week 4 – 140lbs – ouch…no excuses, I have a new workout regime and a new resolve for eating healthy…we should start seeing that number drop.
Week 8 – 135 – Hallelujah! Real progress now! I don’t expect it will continue at this rate but we’ll see.
Week 12 – 133 – time to get back to counting calories:)
Week 15.5 – 136.5 – taken on Monday (hence the .5 in 15.5 weeks) NOTE: this is on a new scale which disagrees with my old scale so we’re kind of resetting a bit.
Week 19 – 136.0
Week 22 – 133.6 – thank you comfort eating…
Week 23 – 133.4 – well…a little progress is something:)

and finally, the Goals this week are:
– Stay on the water bandwagon…i have to consciously remind myself
– walk with Noah every other evening

  1. I have fallen off the band wagon these last two weeks. I’m hoping that as soon as I am used to this new fall schedule underway I will be able to start exercising…I have the best of intentions, but when I am on the run and starving, it takes all my might not to just throw in the towel and swing into taco bell or McDonalds! I have been able to resist it, but not the three o’clock binge of potato chips or swedish fish or ho ho’s…I forgot to step on the scale this week, so I really need to get with it or I will find myself back in the hole again!
